Challenge:

Background VIS color specified as a Pantone 279, but approved 2D visual color was built as an overprint of a PMS 279 Blue over a second lighter Pantone Blue. The overprint visual was desired final color. Color in its approved state was not deployable for ideal color consistency

Solve:

• Created a color space of visual overprint color and interpreted specific color builds in each printer profile, Spot, Conventional and Extended Gamut applications

• Created random targets of core visuals with each explored separation methods and output to each printer condition for Design, Brand and Print Quality Team evaluation

• Audited all printer’s ability to produce Extended Gamut product and onboarded a printer into EG

• Attended all 1st runs with each printer for strategy deployment

Success Metric :

• A single truth graphic able to be scaled to multiple print platforms.

• Final print outcome in all application is consistent visually and quantitatively able to be evaluated and compared for consistency evaluation.
